Most bands do not publish prices and refer you to an individual enquiry. That is understandable — every event is different. It also means that an event manager putting together a budget has nothing to work with. So here are our jazz band prices, openly.
I am David Kleňha, a jazz singer and bandleader based in Prague. Since 2015 we have played more than 320 events — corporate evenings, receptions, gallery openings, hotel nights and weddings. We perform in line-ups from duo to quintet and all prices below are valid for 2026.
Jazz band price list 2026
A standard evening means three 45-minute sets, roughly three hours including breaks. The price includes our own professional BOSE stereo PA system and transport within Prague. The amounts are starting prices — the final price depends on programme length, date, venue and type of event.
These are starting prices for events in Prague. Outside Prague, transport is charged by the number of vehicles — CZK 7/km for a duo or trio and CZK 14/km for a quartet or quintet, which travel in two vehicles. Kilometres are counted from Prague and back. A quote for a specific date is sent within 24 hours of your enquiry.
What the price includes
- Three 45-minute sets — approximately three hours of music including breaks.
- Our own professional BOSE stereo PA system — proven, road-tested equipment for events of up to 80–100 guests, including microphones and monitoring. The sound system is priced in as a separate item, but it gives you certainty: we bring a sound we know inside out — clean, with no feedback or howling, and no improvising with unfamiliar equipment on site.
- Transport within Prague — arrival, set-up and pack-down.
- Programme preparation — repertoire chosen for the character of the event and timed around speeches or award presentations.
- No backing tracks — everything you hear is played live.
What increases the price
When the price works out lower
The prices above are starting prices. In many situations we can offer better terms and build them straight into the quote for your date:
- Weekday events — Monday to Thursday is usually less busy than Friday and Saturday.
- Off-season dates — January to April, October and November.
- Booking well in advance — the sooner you confirm, the better we can plan the line-up and the journey.
- Regular cooperation — recurring performances at a hotel or restaurant, or a series of events for one client.
By contrast, December is the busiest month of the year. Fridays and Saturdays before Christmas are booked several months ahead and priced according to the date.
Transport outside Prague: why larger line-ups cost double
Transport is not charged per band but per vehicle. A duo and a trio fit into one car along with the PA system. A quartet also carries a drum kit, and a quintet is five musicians with instruments — neither fits into one vehicle, so we travel in two.
What the CZK 7/km rate covers
Transport is not a source of profit. The per-vehicle rate covers the cost of the journey: fuel for a fully loaded vehicle, the motorway vignette and any parking in city centres. It also includes a reserve for fuel price swings, so we do not have to change the transport rate every time petrol goes up.
The rate does not include time spent travelling or wear on the vehicle; those are part of the fee, not of transport.
Kilometres are counted from Prague to the venue and back. For an event in Brno (roughly 410 km there and back) that means CZK 2,870 for a trio and CZK 5,740 for a quartet. It is not a surcharge for band size — it is the real cost of two cars.
One exception is worth mentioning: if the organiser provides the PA for a quartet, we are not carrying equipment and can sometimes fit into one vehicle. Mention it in your enquiry and we will reflect it in the quote.
A budget of CZK 20,000 — what you get
Twenty thousand is the starting price of the trio. For that we play a full standard evening in Prague: vocals, piano and double bass, three sets, our own BOSE PA and a programme built for your event. If you also want dancing, I would recommend a quartet with drums instead.
Check a dateWhy prices differ by line-up
The price is essentially the musicians' fees plus equipment and transport. Each additional musician is one more professional fee — which is why the gap between a duo and a quintet is more than double. But it is not only about headcount: the sound changes, and so does what the music does to the room.
Duo — from CZK 15,000
Vocals and piano. The quietest and most space-efficient option, ideal for dinner, a reception or a gallery opening. It needs a floor area of 3 × 2.5 m. More at jazzduo.cz.
Trio — from CZK 20,000
Vocals, piano and double bass. The most frequently booked line-up for corporate evenings. The double bass gives the music a bottom end and a full sound without adding volume. The line-up is David Kleňha (vocals), Jaroslav Bárta (piano) and Jan Greifoner (double bass).
Quartet — from CZK 27,000
Trio plus drums (Branko Križek). Drums are the dividing line between background music and dance music. If you expect dancing, a quartet is the minimum — see jazzquartet.cz.
Quintet — from CZK 33,000
Quartet plus a horn section, usually saxophone or clarinet, trumpet on request. The richest sound for large corporate parties and gala evenings. Details at jazzquintet.cz.
How to compare quotes
Band prices are not comparable until you know what is inside them. Before comparing, find out for each band:
- How many minutes of music the price covers — three 45-minute sets is a different volume from two hours.
- Whether a PA system is included and how many guests it covers.
- How transport is calculated — flat fee or per kilometre.
- Whether the band plays live or uses backing tracks.
- How many musicians will actually arrive, and in what line-up.
The difference between CZK 20,000 and CZK 30,000 is often not quality but the fact that one price includes equipment and the other does not.
When to enquire
December (corporate Christmas parties) is the busiest month, and May to September is also high season. For a December date, ask in September; for a summer event, in spring. Last-minute dates do come up, but the choice of line-up is narrower.

A jazz duo costs from CZK 15,000, a trio from CZK 20,000, a quartet from CZK 27,000 and a quintet from CZK 33,000. Prices are for a standard evening in Prague, meaning three 45-minute sets, including our own professional BOSE stereo PA system and transport within Prague. The final price depends on programme length, date, venue and type of event.
What is included in the price?
Three 45-minute sets, our own professional BOSE stereo PA system for events of up to 80 to 100 guests, transport within Prague, programme preparation tailored to the event, and live playing with no backing tracks.
How much is transport outside Prague?
Transport is charged by the number of vehicles: a duo and a trio travel in one vehicle at CZK 7 per kilometre, a quartet and a quintet in two vehicles at CZK 14 per kilometre. The CZK 7/km rate per vehicle covers fuel, the motorway vignette, parking and a reserve for fuel price swings. Kilometres are counted from Prague and back; the performance fee itself stays the same.
How quickly do you send a quote?
We send a specific quote for your date within 24 hours of your enquiry. We need the date, venue, guest count and approximate programme length.
Is there a way to save on the price?
Yes. We offer better terms for weekday events, off-season dates and bookings made well in advance. December is our busiest month — for corporate Christmas events we recommend booking several months ahead.
Can we book a shorter programme than three hours?
Yes. Gallery openings and receptions are often two 45-minute sets. The price of a shorter programme is agreed individually depending on the date and venue.
