With pianist Jaroslav Bárta and double bassist Jan Greifoner, David Kleňha forms the jazz trio — a line-up that sounds full yet stays intimate. They play where music should create the atmosphere: at corporate evenings, receptions and standing dinners, at gallery openings and as dinner jazz.
David Kleňha is a jazz singer. He performs with his own line-ups from duo to quintet and works as a soloist with jazz big bands and orchestras, including theatre performances. His repertoire is built on jazz and swing standards, ballads and Czech classics.
Jaroslav Bárta plays piano in David Kleňha's jazz trio — with voice and double bass it forms the line-up for corporate evenings, receptions, gallery openings and dinner jazz.
A graduate of musicology at Masaryk University and of piano and composition at the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory in Prague, where he now teaches jazz interpretation. A versatile pianist and composer who has worked with artists such as Lenka Filipová, Chantal Poullain and the Felix Slováček Big Band.
Jan Greifoner plays double bass in David Kleňha's jazz trio — the instrument that gives the trio its full sound and carries the line-up both for listening and for dancing.
A graduate of the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory, he is an experienced double bassist with strong roots in jazz, swing and traditional music. Over the years he has played in leading ensembles such as J.J. Jazzman, Matěj Benko Trio and Polydor Jazz Sextet, and accompanies leading Czech jazz singers including Eva Emingerová and Jana Koubková.

Frequently asked questions
What is the approximate price of the jazz trio?
The jazz trio in Prague costs between CZK 16,000 and 20,000 depending on the length of the programme and the venue. The price covers a standard evening of roughly three hours with breaks — longer programmes are arranged individually. It includes our own PA system and travel within Prague; outside Prague we add CZK 8 per kilometre. We send an exact quote within 24 hours.
Do you offer a cheaper option?
Yes. The jazz duo (voice and piano) costs CZK 10,000 to 14,000 and suits smaller events, dinner jazz or background music. Same musicians and repertoire, just without the double bass.
How much does the quartet or quintet cost?
The jazz quartet with drums costs CZK 22,000 to 26,000 and the jazz quintet with a horn section CZK 28,000 to 32,000. Prices are for a standard evening in Prague including our own PA system.
How long do you play and how many sets do you do?
We usually play two to three 45-minute sets with breaks. We'll adjust the overall length and timing to fit the programme of your event.
Do you bring your own PA system?
Yes. We bring our own professional active PA system, which comfortably covers intimate to mid-sized events of up to 80–100 guests. For halls above 100 people and large outdoor productions we require a sound engineer provided by the organiser.
What music do you play and can we request a song?
We play jazz and swing standards, chanson and tastefully arranged modern songs. We're happy to learn a favourite piece — for a first dance, for example — specially for you.
What are the technical requirements?
The trio needs a minimum area of 3.5 × 3 metres on a level, clean and dry surface, and one standard 230 V / 16 A socket. Total power draw does not exceed 1.5 kW. We arrive 60 minutes before the start; set-up and pack-down take 30 minutes each. Outdoor performances require solid cover for the band and equipment.
How far do you travel and can we choose a different line-up size?
We play across the whole Czech Republic and are based in Prague. Besides the trio we also perform as a duo, quartet and quintet — we'll recommend the ideal line-up for your event.
