With pianist Jaroslav Bárta and double bassist Jan Greifoner, David Kleňha forms the jazz trio, the line-up clients choose most often. It sounds full while leaving room for conversation: at weddings from the ceremony to the evening programme, at corporate parties, gala evenings and receptions.
David Kleňha is a jazz singer. He performs with his own line-ups from duo to larger bands and works as a soloist with jazz big bands and orchestras, including theatre performances. His repertoire is built on jazz and swing standards, ballads and Czech classics.
Jaroslav Bárta plays piano in David Kleňha’s jazz trio: with voice and double bass it forms the line-up for weddings, corporate parties and social evenings.
A graduate of musicology at Masaryk University and of piano and composition at the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory in Prague, where he now teaches jazz interpretation. A versatile pianist and composer who has worked with artists such as Lenka Filipová, Chantal Poullain and the Felix Slováček Big Band.
Jan Greifoner plays double bass in David Kleňha's jazz trio — the instrument that gives the trio its full sound and carries the line-up both for listening and for dancing.
A graduate of the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory, he is an experienced double bassist with strong roots in jazz, swing and traditional music. Over the years he has played in leading ensembles such as J.J. Jazzman, Matěj Benko Trio and Polydor Jazz Sextet, and accompanies leading Czech jazz singers including Eva Emingerová and Jana Koubková.

Frequently asked questions
What is the approximate price of the jazz trio?
The jazz trio starts at CZK 20,000 for a standard evening — 2 hours of live music with one 15-minute break — including the BOSE PA system and travel within Prague; outside Prague we charge CZK 7 per kilometre. The final price depends on the date, length and type of event — weekdays and early bookings work out better. We send an exact quote within 24 hours; details are in the price list.
Can the trio play the whole wedding?
Yes. The trio plays for the ceremony, during dinner and in the evening when guests are celebrating. We plan the programme around your wedding schedule: as standard 2 hours of music with one break, or 3 hours with two breaks. For inspiration see the article jazz band for your wedding.
What does a corporate party with the trio look like?
For the welcome drink and dinner we play softer so guests can talk. Later we add livelier swing. We adapt the length and volume to the programme of the evening. More in the article how to choose a band for a corporate event.
Do you bring your own PA system?
Yes, we bring our own professional BOSE PA system for events of up to 80–100 guests. For larger halls and big outdoor events the organiser provides a sound engineer. More in the article how many musicians for how many guests.
What music do you play and can we request a song?
We play jazz and swing standards, chanson and tastefully arranged modern songs. We're happy to learn a favourite piece — for a first dance, for example — specially for you.
What are the technical requirements?
The trio needs at least 3.5 × 3 m of floor space and one standard 230 V socket; we arrive an hour before the start. Outdoors, solid cover for the band and equipment is required. The full rider is in the article what the band needs on site.
How far do you travel?
We play across the whole Czech Republic and are based in Prague; events abroad, including Germany and Austria, by agreement.
When should we choose a duo or quartet instead of the trio?
For the ceremony alone or an intimate dinner in a smaller space, the jazz duo is enough. If there will be a lot of dancing, we recommend the jazz quartet.
