Say the word jazz and everyone pictures something different — and that variety is its strength. As a jazz singer I adapt the jazz style to the character of the event. Let us go through the most important styles and when each one fits.

I am David Kleňha and with my trio (jazztrio.cz) I play across genres at weddings, balls and corporate events.

Swing — energy and dancing

Swing is the heart of jazz — rhythmic, joyful, made for dancing. It suits balls, evening parties and anywhere you want to fill the floor. The era of Sinatra and Glenn Miller has a charm that works for all generations.

Bossa nova — elegance and ease

Bossa nova is gentle, sultry, Brazilian. Ideal as a backdrop to a reception, a welcome drink or a summer garden party. It sets a relaxed, cultivated atmosphere perfect for conversation.

Tip from experience

Not sure which style to choose?

We will advise based on the type of event and put together a repertoire that fits your atmosphere. You can also pick the style in our tool.

Lounge and smooth jazz — a cultivated backdrop

Lounge and smooth jazz are unobtrusive and easy to listen to. They work beautifully at corporate events, cocktail parties and anywhere the music should set the atmosphere rather than be the centre of attention.

Jazz standards — the common denominator

Across all styles stand the jazz standards — songs from the Great American Songbook that the whole world knows. They are the backbone of the repertoire and can be played as swing, as bossa nova or as a slow ballad as needed.
